The University of San Antonio Institute for Economic Development released their 4th economic assessment titled “Economic Impact of the Eagle Ford Shale”. In these assessments, they speak about the economic output of the Eagle Ford Shale and how it affects the job market and energy output.
In this new study, USAIED found that in 2013, the Eagle Ford Shale generated more than $85 billion in economic output, employed more than 150,000 people and added in $2.2 billion in revenues to local and state governments. The assessment goes on to speak about how the Eagle Ford Shale is further exceeding previous economic projections for the shale. These findings show that the Eagle Ford shale doesn’t display the boom and bust cycles that have affected past shales, but instead show signs of longevity.
